OUR HISTORY

Barton Smith was establised as a Cuttlers and Gunsmith in 1788. Part of our history is a Barton Smith penknife was used to cut loose a life boat on the Titanic 1912. In 1990 Barton and Lock and Safe split from the main sports shop on Hyde Bridge and opened in Stephen Street. Alison who works with Mark and Kenny is 7th generation member of the Smith family.
